History

In 2016 Fovl was created from a simple idea: to create the place we felt was missing in Nordvest - a place to gather from morning to night, where quality, craftsmanship, and community go hand in hand. In February, Andreas, Marie, and Mattias opened the doors with a simple setup - coffee, beer, light meals, and homemade baked goods. Since then, we have continuously evolved, refined our craft, and expanded our ambitions.

When the pandemic put our café operations on hold, we shifted our focus to baking - and the demand quickly grew. This led to the opening of Flere Fugle in 2022, a larger and more versatile space with a bakery, kitchen, and events. From here on, we’ve tried to continue to develope various initiatives to support our vision of creating vibrant and informal meeting places in Nordvest.

Later in 2022, FLOK opened as a café at the library on Rentemestervej. Here, we serve baked goods from Flere Fugle, light breakfasts and a daily lunch special. Every Tuesday and Thursday, we host fællesspisning, a communal dinner where local families come together to eat while the children play in the library.

FLOK also serves as Flere Fugle’s production kitchen: a space where we work with fresh, seasonal ingredients for our catering.

In 2023, we opened Lille Fugl in collaboration with Kunstforeningen Gammel Strand - a small, cozy café and bakery shop in the heart of the city.

What all our spaces have in common is a desire to bring people together. We take pride in our work, stay curious, and believe that quality, balance, and sustainability are key to success.
